TOURIST COMPLEX "FREGAT"

We have great pleasure to invite you to the "Tourist Complex "Fregat", which is located in the picturesque shore of the Dnieper river in the historical and business center of Kherson (Ukraine). "Fregat" offers а wide variety of different trips and excursions around the city of Kherson and Kherson region.

Kherson region is one of the Three Southern regions of Ukraine. Our region is washed by the Black Sea in the Southwest, by the Sea of Azov in the Southeast and Syvash Lake in the South.

The region has an advantageous geographical location, unique natural and climatic characteristics, more then 200 kilometers of the sunny sea coast and developed resort industry, rich history, big industrial and agricultural potential. Here ocean vessels are built, quality sorts of wheat are grown, grain combines are assembled, wine-making is practiced. Fishermen are attracted by picturesque flood-plain of the Dnieper river, hunters – by the islands named Biryuchyi and Dzharylhach, archeologists – by Scythian grave-mounds and cities of ancient settlements, blocks of old buildings of Kherson, Beryslav and Skadovsk, two well-know biosphere reserves "Askania-Nova" and Chornomorskyi reserve.

Biosphere reserve "Askania-Nova" is one of the oldest and well-known reserves in Ukraine. It is the largest center of green tourism. More then 40 species of mammals and 60 species of birds from all over the world are represented the same place.

Belogrudov Island   If you are fond of water tours, we invite you to visit Belogrudov Island. Here you can see the unique nature of the mouth of the river Dnieper, which is called PLAVNI. Plavni has a lot of large and small channels, quiet backwaters and islands with inimitable flora and fauna. People of Belogrudov Island receive guests with Ukrainian hospitality. They lavishly lay the tables with national dishes and perform a show of ethnic songs and dances.

Tavriya Wine The archaeological findings confirm the development of wine-making in the territory of the South of Ukraine from II-I cc B. C. The unique climat of our region is blessed for vine-growing. We invite you to the village, which is located in 15 km. from Kherson, on the picturesque bank of the Kosheva river – one of the Dnieper arms. There is Sovkhoz "Belozerskiy" – the most successful agrofirm, which produces more then 20 sorts of high quality wines (dry, semidry, sweet and muscatel). For the last three years "Belozerskiy" wines have been awarded to 23 different medals. We offer excursion around the winery with wine-testing, which includes six sorts of wine.

Zmiyivka  We invite tourists to the old Swedish village Smiyivka, which was founded by settlers from Dago island (Sweden) in 1782. Germans of Swedish origin settled at the same place later. People of Zmiyivka keep Sweden traditions and habits, which are deeply interlaced with Ukrainian and German ones. There are three churches in the village: Ukrainian Orthodox, Greek Catholic and Lutheran. Tour includes meeting with descendants of the first settlers, excursion, church service, and lunch.

For a long time Kherson Region has been famous for its salubrious climate, which has good influence over human bronchus-pulmonary system. Air-bath of steppe and forest-steppe region is very useful for people, suffering from stresses and nerves. Walking tours are useful for absolutely healthy people, who are fond of nature.
There is a wonderful rest zone in the edge of a forest, 30 km from Kherson. You can go there alone, with a family, or with a group up to 30 persons. Pure ozone air with a smell of fragrant grass helps you to forget all the troubles and difficulties of city life. Guests enjoy the nature of Kherson Region and taste dishes of Ukrainian Cuisine. Ecologically clean food, cooked according to old Ukrainian recipes is delicious. Dinner in the fresh wind is a good opportunity to combine pleasure and profit. Manage for horse riding is near the house. Instructor teaches the beginners to saddle and shows practical skills of horse riding. Experienced riders have an opportunity to ride in the forest. If you don't want to ride you can simply watch these graceful animals.
